My Debt Roundup – October 2010

69 dollars! This month my debt decreased just by just $69 to $-13,002. It's sort of depressing that the money I make from work is just sustainable income - enough to pay my rent, eat, and buy minor knick knacks. This month, I didn't buy any new gadgets or had any major expense. Only difference these last few months was the lack of a roommate. Living by myself is nice but I realize that dividing my rent and utilities with someone will be helpful towards paying off my debt.

  1. I have the same problem, my mortgage eats up one half of my monthly earnings, and then my bills and credit card statement eat up the other half of my monthly earnings. The only way in which I make extra money is by freelance writing, blogging, Google AdSense, affiliate marketing, and the like. Getting a roommate is a great idea too. You may want to try earning some side income, if you have the time. Good luck!

  2. I've been keeping up with your debt roundup since I'm pretty much on the same boat, but I just haven't had a chance to comment. You've cut your debt in half in only a year! I wish I could say the same for myself. Mine is not going quite so well, but I've also started focusing on saving. Sometimes it feels good to see money accumulating, albeit very slowly, but growing nevertheless. You'll have some bad months, but keep up the work, and at the rate you're going, you'll be debt free in no time
